This is a Motormouth couple car review of the all-new 2025 Mazda CX-50 hybrid compact crossover. This 2025 Mazda CX-50 hybrid uses Toyota’s hybrid system, it has a 2.5L 4-cylinder with three electric motors and a 1.59 kWh battery. It’s matched to an eCVT and gets a combined 219 horsepower, standard electronic AWD.
2025 Mazda CX-50 hybrid pricing is very competitive, there are three trims to choose from. In Canada, the GS-L starts at $42,950 CAD, Kuro $44,850 CAD and GT $48,350 CAD. In the US, Preferred $33,970 USD, Premium $37,400 USD and Premium Plus $40,050 USD (MSRP).
2025 Mazda CX-50 hybrid fuel economy isn’t quite as good at the RAV4 hybrid but still excellent. 6.1L/100 km, 39 MPG city and 6.4L/100 km, 37 MPG highway.
The 2025 Mazda CX-50 hybrid comes standard with plenty of features which includes, a 10.25” display with Mazda Connect and Alexa built-in, 7” driver display, a power driver’s seat, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, panoramic sunroof and a power liftgate. In the US, the panoramic sunroof is available on the middle trim and the heated steering wheel is not available on any trim unfortunately.
The 2025 Mazda CX-50 hybrid offers an upscale interior with a sophisticated feel. It comes standard with a 10.25” display with Mazda Connect and Alexa built-in plus wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto. This hybrid has been raised 1.4” to make room for the hybrid powertrain. Other standard features include, heated front seats, a power driver’s seat, manual passenger seat, a heated steering wheel, panoramic sunroof, wireless charger and a power liftgate. The middle trim adds driver seat memory and a power passenger seat. The top trim has a 12-speaker Bose sound system, a 360-camera, front and rear parking sensors, a head-up display, ventilated front seats and heated rear seats.
There are some 2025 Mazda CX-50 hybrid exceptions for the US, the panoramic sunroof and Bose sound system are standard on the middle trim and the following features are not available on any trim of the CX-50 hybrid in the US. A 360-camera, front and rear parking sensors, a heated steering wheel and heated rear seats.
