Simone Simons -biography creativity - Epica vocalist's success story.Simone Simons ( Simone Simons , Netherlands. Simone Johanna Maria Simons ; born January 17, 1985 ) is a Dutch singer (soprano), the lead vocalist in the symphonic metal band Epica .The singer was born on January 17, 1985 in the Netherlands, in the city of Heerlen. She began learning to play the flute and piano in 1995. A year later, she began to study vocals (jazz and pop singing).

In 15 years, Simon listened to the album Oceanborn group of Nightwish , and it so admired strong operatic vocals of Tarja Turunen , she began taking classical singing lessons. In 2002 within a few months, she sang in the choir, and then joined a recent symphonic metal -group the Epica . The group, then called Sahara Dust, gave several concerts with the Norwegian vocalist Helena Michaelsen, but the voice and bright appearance of the young Simons (at that time the girls of guitarist and founder of the group Mark Jansen) immediately made her the face of the group, and the group itself an event in European metal music, bringing her fame after the first album. Simona is the author of some of the band's songs.)
