"Safe in New York City" is a song from the 2000 album Stiff Upper Lip. It was released as a single on February 28, 2000.
The song was written by brothers Angus and Malcolm Young and co-produced by their older brother George Young.

The song peaked at number 21 on the US Billboard Mainstream Rock chart.

The music video was directed by Andy Moragan. The video shows the band playing in a tunnel surrounded by armed police officers.

The band performed the song live at the American West Arena in Phoenix in 2000. This version was reissued on the 2009 compilation Backtracks.

Lyric meaning: The song was originally intended to mock Rudolph Giuliani's claims of "cleaning up" Manhattan, but it took on a new meaning after the September 11, 2001, attacks.

Tracklist of the single: In addition to the main version, the single includes the tracks "Cyberspace" and the live version of "Back in Black".
