Early life
Depp’s family moved often, eventually settling in Miramar, Florida in 1970. He dropped out of high school at age 16 to pursue music. He played in several garage bands, including The Kids and Six Gun Method.

Acting career
Depp’s film debut was in A Nightmare on Elm Street in 1984. He became famous for his role as Tommy Hanson in the TV series 21 Jump Street from 1987 to 1990. He’s known for his collaborations with director Tim Burton, including Edward Scissorhands (1990), Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007), and Alice in Wonderland (2010). He also starred in Donnie Brasco (1997), Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998), and the Pirates of the Caribbean films.

Personal life
Depp was married to actress Amber Heard from 2015 to 2016. Their divorce was marked by allegations of domestic violence from both parties. Depp was also involved in legal battles with Heard, his former managers, and a production manager on the 2017 film City of Lies.

Other ventures
Depp is also a musician who tours and records with the Hollywood Vampires.
