If the pH of the pool water is too low, it can accelerate the deterioration of the plaster, making the surface rough, eroded, and even cracked. The solution is to replaster the pool. First, the pool is drained and the damaged plaster is removed. Then, an even layer of a new mixture of white cement, fine silica sand, pigments, and water is applied to the entire surface. The plaster is leveled with a trowel and compacted to remove air bubbles. Curved areas are shaped with a radius trowel for precision. About 24 hours later, the surface is quickly rinsed with a mild hydrochloric acid solution to remove cement dust and reveal the final color. Finally, the pool is filled with clean water without stopping to prevent cracking. Then, the water is stabilized until it is ready for use.
