The D3 Baseball Regional Semi-Finals took place at Massillon Washington High School on June 1st, where Waynedale met Independence for a spot in the Elite Eight.

The Golden Bears were first up to bat and wasted little time in securing a big lead in the top of the 1st.

Dylan Rader & Tristan Franks would score first on a 2-RBI Triple from Connor Gatti. Jayden Schlabach would follow up with a 2-RBI double of his own, bringing home Gatti and Trey Barkman. Shane Coblentz would then bring in Schlabach on an RBI Fielder's choice, and would later score on an RBI single by Dylan Raber to make it 6-0 before the Blue Devils even had an at-bat.

After a scoreless 2nd inning, Independence would hit the board in the 3rd with a pair of runs to tighten things up at 6-2. But Gatti would strike again in the 4th, bringing home Franks with an RBI double before Timmy Short would score Gatti on an RBI single.

Barkman would do the rest from the bump, ending the day with 10 strikeouts to help secure the Golden Bears a place in the Regional Final against South Range Raiders with an 8-2 victory.
