It’s the perfect season for papaya delights and in today’s video, I turn ripe papayas into refreshing juices, Sri Lankan sweets, and warm desserts made for rainy days. From a sunset-colored fruit drink to soft papaya balls served in milk, this video is full of tropical flavors, natural ingredients, and village-style cooking.
➡️ Some papayas had ripened beautifully, so I made a mixed fruit juice using papaya, pineapple, mango, naran (local mandarin), watermelon, strawberry, avocado, and passionfruit. The result was a vibrant, colorful drink that matched the beauty of the evening sky.
Then I prepared musket pudding with scraped papaya and hulankeeriya (arrowroot) flour, adding juicy naran-soaked raisins. I saved the rest by cutting the pudding into cubes and rolling them in desiccated coconut — a perfect tea-time treat with plain tea.

For our meal, I served yellow rice with tempered potatoes, brinjal sambal, spicy chicken curry, dhal curry, cutlets, and papadam. The whole family enjoyed it like a festive dana ceremony, filled with flavor and warmth.
➡️ Later, with rain falling again, I created something new — a dessert made from papaya and cassava flour formed into balls, boiled in sweet salted water, then served with fresh milk, condensed milk, fried vermicelli, and cardamom. Soft, warm, and comforting — perfect for a cozy evening. This video is full of papaya recipes, Sri Lankan desserts, fruit drinks, and creative ways to enjoy tropical ingredients during the rainy season.
