This is one way to repair cracks in asphalt. Asphalt roads receive daily vehicle loads and undergo repeated temperature changes. Over time, the surface begins to crack. To repair fine cracks, pour bitumen-based hot asphalt emulsion and level it with a squeegee to seal the crack. For wider cracks, first clean out the dust, then fill the crack with thick hot asphalt sealant and flatten it with an applicator box. Holes in the surface can be patched with hot or cold asphalt and compacted with a stamper or plate compactor. In hot weather, these patches are usually passable within 30 to 60 minutes.
