Part 2 of the restoration:

After removing the old finish, I did a lot of scraping, sanding and fill ins.
Then I applied dark walnut stain and hard wax oil.

1.6mm rattan cane was used on the back.
2.0mm rattan cane was used on the seat.

FYI, I am self-taught, therefor I decided to fill in the frame rebate on the back with wood dust and glue and then to add oak veneer. Usually a wooden infill is made in such cases but I wasn’t emotionally ready to take on a task like that.

The way I restore the screws - is my way of doing it. I always use rust remover and metal files. Polishing is done with 600 grit(and higher) sand paper.
