Abbrederis was last seen in Dallas, Texas, on April 2, 1996, leaving behind her car, clothes, luggage, and personal items. She left her dog alone in her apartment, and red fingerprints next to her entrance door were paint. Abbrederis's boyfriend took money from her savings account, signed over one of her cars to himself, and depleted their joint bank account. Investigators believe his actions do not automatically render him a suspect. Abbrederis was convicted of prostitution and performed as an exotic dancer in Dallas clubs during her disappearance. She met her husband while serving in the Army and they married in 1990. Abbrederis was distant from her father at the time of her abduction but was close to one of her sisters and her mother, who all reside in Michigan. Hong Kong is his home. Foul play is suspected in the unsolved case of Abbrederis.
