In order for Heather Mack to be able to inherit the riches that her father, James L. Mack, had left behind before he passed away in 2006, she paid her boyfriend, Tommy Schaefer, to kill her mother, Sheila von Wiese.
In the year 1995, Heather was born to her parents, James L. Mack and Sheila von Wiese. James, a well-known jazz pianist and composer, contributed to more than sixty recordings during his creative career. In the year 2006, he passed away as a result of a pulmonary embolism that he experienced while on vacation in Greece. He passed away in the hotel room where he was staying.
James was riding a Royal Caribbean trip in the Mediterranean in the year 2001 when he suffered an injury to his foot. This occurred just before he passed away. Negligence on the part of medical professionals caused the injuries to become more serious, which ultimately resulted in him being partially paralyzed. It was against the Royal Caribbean that he initiated legal action. As a result of the settlement of this action in 2011, Sheila was granted a total of $340,667, and the estate of James Mack was given an additional $500,000.
