This record was realized in 1982 by French ensemble Loïdhana and it's a real rare gem about medieval dances. English and French instrumental music composed in the XIIIth and XIVth centuries. The principal source for this music is the fundamental "Manuscrit du Roi", one of the major testimony of European Medieval Music.
As for the video, I used the dance miniature of "fol 007r" from "MS Douce - 195". I think this work of art is perfect for recreating the atmosphere in which these dances were played: a man arrives at the party, he salutes by raising his hat and a splendid lady holds out her hand inviting him to participate in the dance that the musicians are playing from the balcony, while the dance queen wears a wreath.
