"Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" is a cover version of the Eurythmics' "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)", which was released as the first single on Marilyn Manson's remix album Smells Like Children. The video for the song was played on MTV and helped Manson stay in the mainstream. The song is the only song from Smells Like Children to be included on the band's best-of compilation Lest We Forget: The Best Of. In his autobiography, Long Hard Road Out of Hell, Marilyn Manson stated that the label on which the cover was recorded, Nothing Records, did not want the song to be released as a single.
