Jan Frodeno and Daniela Ryf are two of the greatest triathletes to ever grace this planet.

However, they have both been questioned in recent years. Frodeno's injury struggles means he hasn't completed a race since the inaugural Collins Cup back in 2021. Ryf, meanwhile, has had to silence doubters a few times, in particular at the 2021 Ironman World Championship in St George last year where she became a 10 x world champion despite many claiming she was on the decline after a difficult 2021.

Now they head to Ibiza for the first event of the 2023 PTO Tour. The first time either of them have stepped onto the start line for a 100k race away from the unique team format of the Collins Cup. And they have some serious challengers waiting for them in the likes of Kristian Blummenfelt, Ashleigh Gentle, Magnus Ditlev, Lucy Charles-Barclay and many other top talents as the standard of professional triathlon continues to rise to unseen levels.

Who will come out on top? Will the new guard defeat the GOATs of the sport? Or will Frodeno and Ryf show them they still have some way to go if they want to take their crown?
