In a bold and assertive statement, Chief of Defence Staff CDS General Anil Chauhan responded to Rahul Gandhi's question demanding the number of Indian aircrafts lost. Rahul Gandhi had said, "EAM should tell how many aircrafts India lost."

CDS Chauhan firmly replied that losses are not important in war. He emphasized that what truly matters is the outcome and the strength of action.

"We conducted the strike between 1 and 1:05 AM. After that, we directly contacted Pakistan and clearly said — if you hit us, we’ll hit back harder," the CDS said during a media briefing.
