🏚️ DERELICT BARN TRANSFORMATION | Insulating the Roof & First Fix Electrics | DB Builders Sussex LTD – Ep. 6

Welcome back to episode 6 of our Derelict Barn Project! We have taken on the monumental task of transforming a 200-year-old derelict barn, left abandoned and exposed to the elements for over a decade. This historic structure is finally getting the love and craftsmanship it deserves, and we’re bringing you along every step of the way. In this episode, watch as we fully insulate the entire roof with 2 layers of 70mm Celotex insulation, which form the base of the building’s warm roof system—crucial for long-term efficiency and comfort. We also had to get creative with the roof detailing to ensure all our electrics are neatly concealed, preserving the barn’s stunning exposed oak features and traditional character. Major headway is made with the first fix electrics, preparing this iconic structure for its next chapter. Expect plenty of satisfying carpentry, oak framework, and raw behind-the-scenes action from the site.
