This is a Motormouth couple car review of the electric cars we have driven recently, plus our favourites.Here are the electric vehicles we have driven lately.
The Bolt has a 66 kWh battery with an electric motor, 200 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque. It gets 417 km/259 miles of EV range, FWD only.
The entry-level IONIQ 5 standard range comes with a smaller 58 kWh battery and RWD only. It has 168 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque with 354 km/220 miles of EV range. The RWD Long Range model with the larger 77.4 kWh battery has 225 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, it offers the most range at 488 km/303 miles.The AWD Long Range model has the most power, it has a 77.4 kWh battery, 320 horsepower and 446 lb-ft of torque. It gets 414 km/256 miles of EV range.
The MX-30 has a 35.5 kWh lithium-ion battery powering an electric motor with 143 horsepower and 200 lb-ft of torque. It gets up to 161 km/100 miles of EV range. FWD only.
The Mustang Mach-e has both RWD and AWD options, Standard Range and Extended Range. Standard Range models have a 68 kWh battery. The RWD model has 266 horsepower, 355 km/230 miles of EV range. AWD models have 325 km/210 miles of range. Extended Range models have a 88 kWh battery. RWD Extended Range models have 290 horsepower and 475 km/300 miles of EV range. AWD Extended Range models have 346 horsepower and 425 km/277 miles of range.
The Taycan’s power comes from a 93 kWh battery with 522 to 750 horsepower and 479 to 774 lb-ft of torque depending on trim. It offers 325 - 400 km range with standard AWD.
The Model Y AWD has two independent electric motors with a 75 kWh battery. The Long Range model has 384 horsepower and 531 km/318 miles of EV range. The Performance model has 450 horsepower and 488 km/303 miles of EV range.
The ID.4 RWD has a single rear mounted electric motor with an 82 kWh battery, 201 horsepower and 400 km/260 miles of EV range. The dual motor AWD model has 302 horsepower and 386 km/249 miles of EV range.
The XC40 Recharge has a 78 kWh battery with 402 horsepower and 486 lb-ft of torque. It gets about 359 km/223 miles of EV range.
