There were some incredible 4x4 car build vehicles for the 2020 Deathwish Mud Buggy Adventure but none of them got our attention quite like this 1949 Packard built by Garage Bound LLC in Chattanooga, TN. It started out with a 49 Packard body that was dropped down onto a 1996 Dodge Ram Chassis. They built a big block Chevy out of a motor home and swapped in the dually rear axle out of a school bus. Pretty cool right? Well that is just where they started. As you move on to the truck area of this off road car that is where the magic is. A hydraulic shelf actuates out of the back holding a ready to go mig welder, generator, and plasma cutter so you can take care of whatever trail repairs you find. There are cutting torches and oxygen and acetylene tanks under each side that act as rock sliders and all of the hoses and fittings to make everything work properly. These guys really pulled out all of the stops on this one considering that they have never built a 4x4 before! What do you think of this custom welding rig?
