HEAVY GAMING ON A CHEAP DEVICE? THINK TWICE

Sneak peak to electronics diagnostics and circuit board repair. We tackle a challenging case where an initial multimeter test, performed by lifting coils to isolate the circuit, revealed an abnormally low reading on power delivery lines. This led us to initially suspect specific MOSFETs, showing an apparent short between their gate and source while on the board. However, a baffling turn of events unfolds: once these MOSFETs were carefully lifted from the board for off-board testing, they tested perfectly fine! This video vividly demonstrates the complex reality of component-level repair, where failures can be elusive and not always obvious to standard multimeter checks. Our objective is to identify and replace components that may have degraded under heavy load, even if they don't exhibit a clear short when isolated. You’ll see how the work is done ensuring no damage to the board during these crucial diagnostic and experimental phases. Why we did all this instead of lifting the GPU and memory modules first? It is a time consuming process so instead of going the long way to reach a dead end, we first have to take the short way and see if we find something that we did not expect. in this case the GPU chip and memory modules were not showing a clear sign of heat when supplied with voltage and monitoring under thermal imaging, so we have to trust the multimeter and try to find a hidden fault, usually a low reading on the GPU line or associated memory supply line will lead to a dead core or dead VRM 90% of the time, but you can give the device a chance and try to go the extra mile. This is the results of gaming on a budget device which has a bad cooling system and not so powerful GPU chip, when the user is using high graphics settings and the game is lagging, just know that your device is struggling but you don’t feel it, that’s why monitoring task manager is the best idea. do not use your device if you see the resources are being utilized at 100%, it is a clear red flag that the machine is not able to handle the load and you will often end up with a black screen or no power issue. This is a real-world look at the complexities of modern electronics repair. Our next step is to monitor the power-on sequence under thermal imaging, comparing it to the board's previous state to confirm the definitive fault. This video will guide you through the nuanced challenges of invisible component failures and the careful process required to diagnose them. Safety First: Advanced repair work with high temperatures and dangerous chemicals requires proper ventilation and protective gear. Always use a respirator.
