A plantarium - specially heated case for exotic tropical plants is seen (looks like a fish tank really). Various shots of glass carboys - large round bottles. A horticulturist got the idea for bottle gardens when he bought a large stock of the carboys. We see him planting small plants inside the bottle with the help of a teaspoon tied to a stick. Narrator states: 'Flat owners have really started the craze for bottle gardens. That is because, apart from an occasional watering, it can decorate a home for months without needing attention.' C/Us of plants inside the bottles. A ribbon is tied around the neck of one of the finished bottles and it is placed on a rack with lots of others. Narrator states that the bottle gardens may become a rarity as the carboys aren't made any more. Shoppers in a Piccadilly store admire the bottle gardens. Note: I remember my dad selling these at his nursery in the early 1970s! They were fab. Cuts exist - see other record.
