This is a Motormouth couple car review of the all-new 2023 Honda CR-V compact SUV. The new 2023 Honda CR-V has a 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder matched to a CVT, 190 horsepower and 179 lb-ft of torque. FWD and AWD options are available. There is also a new 2023 Honda CR-V hybrid matched to an ECVT with a combined 204 horsepower, standard AWD in Canada, FWD and AWD options are available in the US. We look forward to reviewing the hybrid when it arrives. We are really impressed with the way this new model handles, it has a smoother ride, it feels more refined, and the cabin is quieter. The CVT has been updated to reduce noise and vibration and Honda has added hill descent control and a snow driving mode. The new 2023 Honda CR-V is 2.7” longer and 0.4” wider and has a bold and boxy new design with a broader stance, longer hood and a matte black or gloss black grille. The new 2023 Honda comes with some good standard features like a 7” digital driver display, 7” touchscreen, wired Apple Carplay and Android Auto, heated front seats, manual driver and passenger seats and cloth upholstery. In the US, there are a few extra standard features including, a moonroof and a power driver seat with lumbar support.Move up to the new 2023 Honda Sport model to get the power tailgate, moonroof, power driver seat and a heated steering wheel. The top trim has driver seat memory, a power passenger seat, heated rear seats, leather trimmed seats, 9” touchscreen, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto and a wireless charger.The base AWD model in Canada is expensive and more than its competitors by over $6,000 CAD. In the US, the gap is much smaller making it more competitive. The top trim is priced well, but it is missing some features its competitors have like a 360 camera, ventilated front seats and a panoramic sunroof. In the US, there is no heated steering wheel available on the gas model. In Canada, new 2023 Honda CR-V models start at FWD $34,790 CAD, AWD $37,590 CAD, Sport $41,490 CAD, EX-L $43,390 CAD. In the US, new 2023 Honda CR-V models start at EX FWD $31,110 USD, AWD $32,610 USD, EX-L FWD $33,760 USD
EX-L AWD $35,260 USD.
