In this video I review the Staedtler 925 05 mechanical pencil, or to be more precise, drafting pencil.
Now, at Michael's this pencil subtotaled for $9.99 and that gave me a total of $10.59. There was a 50% off coupon that my stupid self unfortunately failed to print.
So, who in their right state of mind would even think about buying the Staedtler 925 when you have the stunning 925 25 Silver Series, or the cool 925 35 Night Blue Series at your buying disposal. Well, first of all, the 925 is cheaper, stealthier, and also happens to be available at your local Michael's art store. Now don't get me wrong the Silver Series and Night Blue Series are pretty slick-looking, but there's something about the matte-black look and ribbed rubberized grip and how about that nice color-coded ring in the center!(well close enough). Yes, it's made of plastic, while the others I talked about are made of metal. However, the tip and pocket clip, as well as, the color-coded lead size/grade indicator ring are made of metal. This pencil is available in four lead sizes: 0.3mm, 0.5mm, 0.7mm, and 0.9mm. The aluminum ring varies in color depending on which lead size you choose. For example, if you get the 0.3mm the ring is a yellowish-gold color, and if you get the 0.5mm, like I did, the ring is a sort of dark, reddish-brown color. Lastly, the 0.7mm ring color is blue and the 0.9mm is orange. Now, of course the 25 and 35 are built better, but for some screwed up twisted reason, the regular series, if you will, caught my eyes a bit more.
