Experience the breathtaking beauty of Chilean Patagonia on an epic 3,200 km (2,000 mi) journey along the Carretera Austral and its many side trips. The Carretera Austral, also known as Route 7 or The Southern Way, is the most scenic road in Chilean Patagonia. Spanning 1,247 km (775 mi) from Puerto Montt to Villa O'Higgins, this mostly unpaved route traverses through rainforests, fjords, lakes, glacial rivers, and verdant valleys, all framed by majestic snow-capped peaks.
