BOULDER- For the second straight year, Mother Nature became one of the thousands in attendance for the Black and Gold game, this time, as rain.

"We are built to handle adversity. We give them messages, every day we practice in the facility and we're trying to raise men to handle adversity and the unexpected," Head Coach Deion "Coach Prime" Sanders said.

Rain had been in the forecast for weeks, what hadn't been on Colorado's radar was the injuries to the running back room. Freshman Micah Welch and junior Charlie Offerdahl, who earned a scholarship before the game, both did not play due to injury. Offerdahl's injury is to his intestines, but will be healed by the fall.
