Testing the Intel i5-12400 CPU, we found the CPU to be overall compelling value when compared against AMD, but it faces strong competition from Intel's own i3-12100 for absolute budget-priced gaming CPUs. Right now, Intel is lining-up to fiercely position itself in both gaming and production tests across the entire price range, and AMD is behind overall. It still has a few advantages as an alternative to Intel Alder Lake (12th Gen) CPUs, but they're becoming more constrained.
