A piercing drama by Vasily Shukshin based on the story of the same name. Yegor Prokudin, a man of lost fortune, was imprisoned for many years. After serving his sentence, Yegor goes to a village where a blue-eyed stranger Lyuba Baikalova lives, with whom he has been corresponding. Here he expects to live for a while and catch his breath before returning to the city. However, life in the village changes Prokudin’s plans, and he decides to forget his past forever. But is it possible to break the vicious cycle of crime?
