In the video, a worker is using a cutting torch to repurpose a discarded gas cylinder as the outer casing for a gasifier.

To potentially cut an empty gas cylinder like an LPG tank safely, first ensure it's fully emptied outdoors by opening the valve (pointed away) and venting thoroughly. Then completely fill it with water and soak for at least 48 hours to remove flammable residues before draining. Remove all valves and fittings using non-sparking tools. Work in a wide-open outdoor area with fire extinguishers ready, and crucially, keep the cylinder filled with water throughout the cutting process to absorb heat and prevent ignition. Wear fire-resistant clothing, gloves, boots, and a full-face welding shield, cutting slowly from the top down if possible. However, due to the extremely high risk of fire, explosion, or toxic fume release, cutting gas cylinders should only be done by qualified professionals using specialized procedures – the scrap value is never worth the danger.
