Step inside one of the most ambitious barn conversion projects on YouTube. Over the last 5 months, we’ve been working to save and restore a 200-year-old oak barn hidden in the heart of the Kent countryside.

Once abandoned for over a century — and left in ruins after a failed attempt by previous builders — this historic barn was at risk of being lost forever. Rotten beams, unsafe electrics, incorrectly installed drainage, and a roof held together with nothing but black and blue plastic… most people would have walked away.

We didn’t.

In this 30-minute mini documentary, we take you through the complete journey so far:
- Tackling failed drainage, unsafe electrics, and a full septic tank
- Stripping away rotten oak and dangerous roof sections
- Rebuilding with traditional oak techniques
- Sandblasting every beam back to its original beauty
- Installing a warm roof system to keep the oak exposed inside
- Full plumbing, electrics, and underfloor heating installation
- And finally — capping it all with a brand new roof of 13,500 handmade clay tiles

This is more than a construction project. It’s a redemption story — saving an incredible piece of English heritage and giving it a new lease of life.

The barn isn’t finished yet — the next stages will see us add insulation, external cladding, huge glass front and rear screens, plasterboarding, plastering, kitchens, bathrooms, second fix electrics, and even a bespoke oak spiral staircase! The scaffolding tin hat will finally come down to reveal this barn in all its glory.
