I’m sharing my real mastectomy recovery-pain, surprises, and all. From waking up with a sore throat and loving hospital applesauce, to swollen fingers and waiting for “smurf pee,” nothing went quite as I expected. The drains were annoying, but manageable. Brain fog and exhaustion hit hard, and I had some tough emotional days. Getting my drains out was rough, but I’m slowly feeling stronger. If you’re facing this or supporting someone who is, I hope my story helps you feel less alone.
