In today’s video, I celebrate the vibrant flavors of rose apple with a full menu of traditional sweets, colorful fruit desserts, and Sri Lankan recipes perfect for festive moments and calm evenings. From homemade rose apple jam to creamy mixed fruit milk, this video is filled with natural ingredients, village cooking techniques, and beautiful presentation. ➡️ I started by making two bottles of rose apple jam, boiling chopped rose apples with sugar lumps and rose petals. Then I prepared a pink mixed fruit milk using rose apple, pomegranate, dragon fruit, red apple, strawberry, and Ambun banana — a creamy drink that refreshes both body and soul. To complement the sweetness, I prepared a savory plate with fried chicken slices, chili-coated corn, and crispy garlic. I also simmered a hearty collagen soup using chicken bones, corn, onions, ginger, lemongrass, and warming spices like cardamom, cloves, and pepper — perfect for the rainy season. As a side, I tempered boiled peas with shrimp, carrots, leeks, tomatoes, and coconut, adding a dash of ketchup for a unique flavor. I also made a quick fruit bite using rose apples, red apples, salt, pepper, and lime — a sweet and tangy snack, perfect with a glass of giggle juice. ➡️ For tea time, I prepared soft Gulab Jamun, a classic sweet, paired with Ranawara tea — a traditional Sri Lankan herbal drink.
