Toronto is Ontario’s provincial capital and the most populated city in Canada. Toronto is Canada’s largest city and the fourth largest city in North America with a population of about 3 million people (6.5 million in the Greater Toronto Area). Half of Toronto’s population are immigrants. The city is the center of the Golden Horseshoe, which is the most densely populated area in Canada with a population of about 9 million people. The video shows several main streets of the city:
Queen Street, which is a major east-west thoroughfare in the city and one of Toronto’s primary shopping destinations.
Yonge Street, which is a major commercial thoroughfare in the city and is 35 mi (56 km) long.
Bay Street, which is the center of Toronto’s Financial District.
The video also shows Union Station, Brookfield Place, Roundhouse Park, Trinity Bellwoods Park and other interesting places in Toronto:
“The Pasture”, which is a group of seven life-size cows surrounded by the modernist towers of the TD Centre.
Yong-Dundas Square, which is continuously illuminated by huge screens just like Times Square in New York. Kids and adults alike like several rows of lighted fountains set directly into the pavement.
Union Station, Go Transit commuter trains and Union Pearson Express, which is an airport rail link between Toronto Pearson Airport and Union Station in downtown Toronto.
