In the heart of Delhi, brothers Nadeem and Mohammad Saud have dedicated their lives to saving injured birds from the deadly threat of kite-flying strings, or manjhas. Through their NGO, Wildlife Rescue, they have treated and rehabilitated over 23,000 birds, including kites, owls, and hawks — all without any formal wildlife training. Their mission goes beyond rescue; they work tirelessly to raise awareness about how harmful festive kite flying can be for bird populations and the environment. Every bird they save is a step towards preserving the delicate balance of nature, proving that compassion, persistence, and community support can make a real difference in protecting our planet’s biodiversity.
