NBC News medical correspondent Dr. John Torres tells TODAY that despite President Trump’s remarks on Fox News that he doubts the accuracy of the estimated numbers of ventilators needed to battle the coronavirus outbreak, ventilators are “crucial” to save patients’ lives. NBC News contributor Dr. Joseph Fair, a virologist, says that Trump’s proposed county-by-county approach to assessing coronavirus risk would work only if more testing data were available: “I would recommend that the governors ignore these guidelines.”
