Green Chili Harvest 🌶️ Curd Chili Prawn Vade Egg Curry and More Sri Lankan Spicy Recipes

It’s green chili harvesting time, and in today’s video, I show how I turned a fresh batch of garden-grown green chilies into flavorful Sri Lankan recipes and preserved them in two traditional ways. From spicy side dishes to crispy snacks and curd chili drying, this is a full journey from farm to kitchen, guided by nature and village cooking.
➡️ After days of rain, I noticed some green chili plants were falling over — a tough sight for any farmer. But with the harvest still in hand, I made the most of it. I picked more than half the green chilies to make curd chilies (Moru chilies), leaving them to dry under the sun for a few days. Their transformation is always a beautiful process.
Originally, I had planned to make dhal vade, but after a visit from the fish seller, I changed course and made crispy prawn vade instead — spicy, crunchy, and perfect with a cup of tea. Later, under the warm sun, I used fresh green chilies to prepare a sweet and tangy papaya pickle and made a refreshing Kerala-style juice that even impressed my mother.
For the main meal, I prepared a creamy egg curry using green chilies, curry powder, onion, garlic, and melted cheese — served with flavorful green rice infused with curry leaves, mint, coriander, and more green chilies. On the side, I made a tomato and onion sambol with curd, pepper, and lime, plus a perfectly dried curd chili to bring the heat.
