The Capital Gate, also known as the Leaning Tower of Abu Dhabi, is a 35-story skyscraper that stands 165 meters (541 feet) tall. The building is owned and developed by the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company. The project began in September 2007, construction was completed in 2011, and it opened on December 21, 2011. It is estimated that the cost of construction is 1 billion dirhams (approximately $272 million).

The Capital Gate is one of the tallest buildings in the city, designed to lean 18 degrees to the west, more than four times that of the Leaning Tower of Pisa. In June 2010, the Guinness World Records recognized the Capital Gate Tower as the world's farthest manmade leaning building.

The Capital Gate is a complex that houses offices, the Andaz Hotel, 30 meeting rooms, conference facilities for 1,200 people, a business centre, a helipad and a food court with eight outlets, among other amenities.

The Andaz Hotel occupies the 18th to 33th floors of the building and includes a reception, Andaz Lounge, restaurant, outdoor pool, gym and spa.

The 188 modern and luxurious rooms and suites are all designed for the modern traveller and exude a warm Arabian hospitality atmosphere. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows offer stunning views of the city. Each room features specially selected amenities, including custom Andaz loungewear designed by award-winning local designer Essa Walla.

The building was constructed using a method called Core-Wall technique to achieve its unique shape. The building's distinctive shape uses a series of steel diagrid beams that radiate outwards from a central core. These beams support the weight of the building and give it its unique angular appearance.
