We visited Favela Rocinha and it was one of the most eye-opening & mind-blowing experiences we’ve ever had on our travels 🤯 Believe it or not, more than 20% of Rio’s entire population live in one of 1,000 Favelas in the city, underscoring their significant presence and importance in the city’s landscape.

Despite their challenges, favelas are more than just impoverished neighborhoods; they are vibrant communities with rich cultural histories. They are hubs of resilience, creativity, and community spirit 💛💚
