On Sunday’s episode of Global National, the body of Capt. Jenn Casey, a Canadian Forces Snowbirds team member who was killed in a plane crash in Kamloops, B.C., was returned home on Sunday. A homecoming ceremony was held on the tarmac near Halifax Stanfield International Airport for Casey, followed by a police-escorted motorcade.

Meanwhile, as the novel coronavirus pandemic continues, large crowds at a Toronto park are sparking new concerns that easing restrictions could trigger a second wave of COVID-19. As Heather Yourex-West reports, Canadians are watching if infection rates can be controlled, as people push for more freedom.

South of the border, U.S. President Donald Trump has declared places of worship an essential service, despite orders from governors to keep them closed. As Jennifer Johnson reports, many believe Trump is trying to please his supporters.

Plus, a number of parliamentarians are heading back to work in Ottawa on Monday, where negotiations will get underway about how future sittings in the House of Commons will look during the pandemic. Abigail Bimman reports.
