In Russia’s Caucasus region, in the Elbrus district of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, days of heavy rainfall in the city of Tyrnyauz have triggered a new and powerful mudflow, bringing life in the city to a standstill. The flow reached the Gerhozhan micro-district, blocking roads, causing water outages, and forcing the evacuation of hundreds of residents. Authorities have declared a state of emergency, while inspections continue due to the risk of further mudslides in the area.
