In a shocking turn of events, Sri Dhiman Chakma, an IAS officer of the 2021 batch and currently serving as the Sub-Collector in Dharamgarh, Kalahandi, has been arrested for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. 10 lakh from a local businessman. The officer reportedly threatened to take adverse action against the businessman’s operations unless the sum was paid.

The corruption case took a more sinister turn when authorities recovered a staggering Rs. 47 lakh in cash from his government residence during a subsequent search. This discovery has raised significant concerns regarding the integrity of civil servants entrusted with serving the public.
