The last video before Christmas is dedicated to the work of the great Marcel Pérès and his ensemble Organum who performed a Christmas mass from the École Notre-Dame, the Parisian school active since the 12th century where the study of polyphony was developed. There are only two names that we know who come from this school: Léonin, composer of organa, and Pérotin, composer of discantus. The compositions on this album are however anonymous. About the video: those who follow the channel will have noticed that the video of "Nowell Synge We Bothe Al And Som: A Feast Of Christmas Music In Medieval England - Gothic Voices" uploaded a few days ago has been deleted. I always feel sorry when my content is deleted not only because of the time wasted in researching and making the video, but above all because in this way many works that could be appreciated by many are forgotten.
