P2096 Code Explained – Why Your Engine Is Running Lean
The P2096 code appears when the Engine Control Module (ECM) detects that the post-catalytic converter oxygen sensor (Sensor 2) on Bank 1 is reading a lean air-fuel ratio. This means the ECM is receiving information from the sensor that indicates there is too much air and not enough fuel in the exhaust gases after they’ve passed through the catalytic converter.
