Completing the Square - Part 2 | Algebra | Maths | FuseSchool

In PART 1 () we looked at how to complete the square so you should already know the process to follow but if you aren’t sure watch that first.

In this video, we will look at how to use completing the square to solve quadratics.

If a quadratic doesn’t factorise, to solve it we need to either use the quadratic formula or complete the square.

Completing the square gives us one or two roots - so one or two solutions to the quadratic (just as we get in factorising or using the quadratic formula).
