This is Jaycee, a stunning little child with an amazing backstory.
It happened on June 10, 1991, and she was 11 years old when she was taken in California's South Lake Tahoe.
She was raised by her mother Terry, stepfather Carl, and younger sister Shauna.
It was an ordinary day at school.
Her mother was in the office.
They actually relocated there because it was a safer neighborhood than where they had lived before, and they had no idea what was coming.
Jaycee was walking to the bus stop that day.


It was a gorgeous, typical California day—warm and sunny. On June 10, 1991, it was.
She believed someone was asking for directions when a car came up beside her as she was halfway up the hill to her bus stop, but before she could say anything, she collapsed on the ground, immobilized.
Phillip Garrido was the man who'd tased her. She had wet her pants and was not conscious.
Her stepfather was the one who witnessed this. He mounted his bike and pursued the vehicle, but they sped off so quickly that he missed the registration plate.
