Quick demonstration of the terrible sounds made by woofers that have rotted foam surrounds (the ring of foam that provides a flexible baffle between the speaker cabinet and the outside).

I tried replacing the foam with a DIY replacement kit, with hilariously bad results (see 2nd part of the video)... so I ended up replacing the woofer with an entirely new replacement, and you can hear the result in the last clip.

Note that these were recorded on my iPhone SE, with it's internal microphone, so you can't hear the full spectrum, but it's a pretty good comparison.
