The name Amanpulo is a combination of the Sanskrit word "aman," meaning peace, and the Tagalog word "pulo," meaning island, thus meaning "island of peace."

Amanpulo is one of the 1,780 islands in the Palawan archipelago, known as Pamalican Island.

Pamalican Island is owned by Seven Seas Resorts (owned by the Soriano family) and Aman resorts. Approximately 40% of the employees are from the neighboring island of Manamoc.

■Access
You can board a 14-seat twin-engine turboprop aircraft (Dornier 228-202K) at the Amanpulo boarding gate at Manila's Ninoy Aquino International Airport and take a flight of approximately 70 minutes to the resort. The flight is operated by Island Aviation Incorporated (IAI), the exclusive airline of Amanpulo.
