You cannot rely on the markings on the tires to tell you the actual dimensions of the tyres. Manufacturers vary widely in the actual size of the tyres both in height and width. This really affects AWD and 4x4 cars. I have found that different brands of tyres are taking a lot of liberty with the actual sizing of their tires. You'll never guess what brands are actually more true to what they are actually supposed to be.
