Exclusive new information on the Nova Scotia shooter, who took the lives of 22 people this past weekend. The RCMP have yet to release a timeline of events, but Global News Ottawa bureau chief Mercedes Stephenson reports that the shooter and his girlfriend had attended a party just down the street from his cottage in Portapique that evening. It was there where the two got into a argument, both returning to his cottage where things began to escalate.

Ross Lord takes a look at some stories of people who are grateful they didn’t end up in the path of the gunman and those who were on his “hit list.”
Also tonight, we take a look at the crisis hitting long-term care homes in Ontario and Quebec. Ontario Premier Doug Ford and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau addressed the situation with Ford calling it “heartbreaking.” Mike Armstrong has the latest from Quebec where Canadian soldiers are filling the gaps in care homes and where hospitals are starting to see the spread of COVID-19.
