Stuart Alden Cook is an American bass guitarist, best known as a member of the rock band Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR).
Born April 25, 1945 in Oakland, California.
He began his musical career in 1959, working as a musician, songwriter, and producer.
In 1995, he founded Creedence Clearwater Revival with John Fogerty, Tom Fogerty, and Doug Clifford, which became one of the most influential rock bands.
After the breakup of Creedence Clearwater Revival in 1972, Stu Cook continued his musical career, participating in various projects:
Don Harrison Band (1975-1977) – Cook and CCR drummer Doug Clifford joined this group, which released two albums.
Production (1979-1981) – Cook produced recordings for Roky Erickson and the Aliens, including the albums The Evil One and I Think of Demons.
Southern Pacific (1986-1991) – Cook became a member of a country rock band that released several albums and enjoyed chart success.
In 1993, Cook was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and also auditioned for the role of bassist for The Rolling Stones after Bill Wyman left.
