The Super Eruption of Lake Toba That Shook the World

#laketobasupervolcano #tobasupervolcano #laketobasupervolcanoeruption #tobasupervolcanoeruption The most recent Lake Toba Super Volcanic Eruption is notorious for being one of the largest volcanic eruptions to have occurred in recent geological history. But prior to this massive supervolcanic eruption, The Toba Volcanic Caldera Complex had three explosive prior eruptions to this, with yet another supervolcano eruption, which was at a similar scale to the most recent one that had occurred, and it created the very first Lake Toba. That existed in a different shape as a sort of Proto-lake for what was to come. The Lake Toba Supervolcanic Complex had released another two large plinian eruptions, resulting in a caldera collapse on both occasions. And ontop of that, it has also had some effusive lava flows leading me to speculate that the magma chamber has a brief period of low silica magma after a super eruption, whilst nearby continental crust is remelted, which would eventually change the chemistry of the magma to be of a more higher felsic containing percent. The Lake Toba we know today, began to take shape during a volcanic eruption that released tuff that we today call The Older Toba Tuff. And it seems other magma chambers are tapping into its batholithic magma chamber and are using it to fuel their own eruptions, which seems to be happening with Mount Sinabung. We will cover all four eruptions, beginning from The Haranggaol Dacite Tuff, To the Older Toba Tuff, The Middle Toba Tuff, and the Young Toba Tuff was covered in the last video. The Mega Eruptions created by Toba caused Earth shattering consequences. And it was just as bad when it blew 800,000 years ago, causing a severe volcanic winter, and making life difficult for all animals near and far from the eruption. We will also look into why Lake Toba is so powerful, and what makes it so unique compared to other nearby volcanoes. I hope you enjoyed this video.
