No matter how tasty the shawarma is, it can never be compared to the coconut sambol that my mother grinded on the stone, the oiled lentils and the fried roast bread. Boiled with peas, cowpeas, green peas and eaten with coconut, kochchi and red onion is a favorite of all four of us at home. The passion fruits jam I made also tasted like roasted bread. passion fruits are even tastier when crushed. When mixed with the slightly sweeter blended fruit tea, the dish really tasted different and sweeter. That night I added more butter and kneaded the dough to make something for the next day. I got up in the morning, watered the vegetable beds, thinned the dough, and made a passion fruit sauce with ravens.
